I’m Ruth Barker-Magowan, an indie HR Consultant who helps small businesses get their people stuff sorted – without the corporate nonsense. I work with founders and early-stage teams who are hiring their first employees or finding that managing people is becoming one job too many.
I’m not your typical HR consultant. I don’t do corporate waffle or hand you a 60-page handbook you’ll never read. I give small businesses the support they need, practical, personal, and grounded in real-life experience. Whether you’re hiring your first employee or knee-deep in people problems, I’ll help you sort it, simply, legally, and with a bit of humour when it’s needed most.
